Voyageurs National Park

Location: Minnesota
Declared as National Park on 8th January, 1971
Voyageurs National Park

The park is spread over an area of 218,200 acres and is named after Canadian-French Fur Traders that were known as voyageurs. The Park has many beautiful lakes, glaciers, rock gardens, historic buildings, islands and bays. Most of the park area is only accessible by a boat or snow mobiles in winter. The Park is an ideal place for those who love hiking, boating, fishing, camping and skiing. One of the most stunning facts about the park is that the rocks where this park is located, are about 1 to 3 billion years old.
