Another day, another low cost Android tablet. The latest launch comes by way of tech company Wickedleaks, which is launching a quad core 7-inch tablet the Wammy Desire 2 for Rs 9,999 in India.
The Wammy Desire 2 sports a 7-inch IPS (Inter Plane Switching) capacitive touch screen with 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution and runs on a 1.4GHz Quad-core Samsung Exynos processor.
It has 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB. In terms of camera, there is a 2MP back camera and 0.3MP front camera.
The device comes in two versions – one which runs of Android JellyBean and another which runs on the older Ice Cream Sandwich. Inexplicably however, both versions will cost the same. Why anyone would opt for an older version of the operating system is a mystery to us, although the company probably has some rationale for what it is doing.
The Wammy Desire 2 is currently up for pre-order in India and the company has stated that the first stock will arrive on 15 May.
