Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve

Declared as National Park on December 2, 1980
Gates of Arctic National Park

It is the second largest national Park in the world with the area of 13,238 miles. It is called as one of the  wildest places on the earth and located above the arctic circle. It lies on the north-most end of United States. The park contains 2 mountains and six Wild and Scenic Rivers i-e Alanta River, John River, Kobuk River, Koyukuk River, Noatak River and Tinayguk River. This area is home to the natives of Alaska since 11,000 years. The Park is also inhabited by caribou, Dall sheep, wolves and many kinds of bears.
