Apple holds event on October 22, new iPads expected

Apple is expected to unveil a new version of its full-sized iPad and a new mini iPad that will likely get a crisper Retina screen.

Apple has scheduled a media event on October 22 in San Francisco for unveiling its highly-anticipated iPads.

The invitation dons an interesting tagline, “We still have a lot to cover.”

Apple is expected to unveil a new version of its full-sized iPad and a new mini iPad that will likely get a crisper Retina screen.

It is widely rumored that Apple will officially announce the new iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 with hardware upgrade, new processors and cameras.

Last year, the company used its October event to introduce two new tablets — the fourth-generation iPad and the iPad mini.

Apple’s latest iPad is widely speculated to be smaller and thinner than the current-generation model, and will be seemingly redesigned to better match the look of the iPad mini, which is expected to have a faster A7 processor.

Other speculations also suggest that the latest iPad will have a Touch ID fingerprint scanner like the latest iPhone5. A report by Fox News also said that the tech giant is also expected to unveil few other new products, possibly including an updated Apple TV set-top box and refreshed Mac computers.
