Declared as National Park on August 1, 1916
With the area of 33,265 acres, this park has vast number of endangered species. One of the main attractions of this park is Haleakala Volcano which erupted between 1480 to 1600 for the last time. Haleakala Visitor Center that lies on the height of 9,740 feet, is known as the best spot to witness the sunrise. Haleakala National Park is also known as the “House of the Sun”.
