Datsun brand launching today

India will be proud to witness the re-introduction of the global brand Datsun after a long wait of 32 years. Moreover, we can also expect that India will get the first Datsun product (hatchback, codenamed K2) by the year end or by early 2014. Few days back, Datsun shares the glimpse of what we called the first new generation Datsun car, and now all set to make its debut here in India.

The first Datsun car will be based on the previous generation Micra's K12 platform, but it will get an all new design and sit below the current Micra. According to the company, the new car will be smaller in size, but will have roomier interiors. The premier to be organised in New Delhi will not only unveil the new model, but also introduce the Datsun brand whose return to the market was announced in March 2012. The hatchback will be competing with the A+/B segment cars, and it will also have the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that does duty in Nissan's Micra.
