longest bridge in the world

The longest bridge in the world is located in China. It is called the Qingdao bridge and has a length of 42.5 kilometers, connecting the city of Qingdao to the Huanggang through the northern part of Jiaozhou Bay.

Qingdao Bridge is the longest road bridge in the world going over the sea.

Construction of the bridge lasted for 4 years by 10,000 employees working every day in 3 shifts. Construction was going at the two ends of the bay. There has been spent 2.5 million cubic meters of concrete and 500,000 tons of steel

According to engineers the bridge is so strong that it can withstand the tsunami or 8 magnitude earthquake! In 2011 the first car passed it.
The land distance between Qingdao and Huanggang is about 50 miles, and now this bridge shortens the path to 30 kilometers. Saving of 19 kilometers which cost about $ 10 billion! Now about 30,000 cars every day pass the longest bridge in the world.
